Rates & Insurance

You may be wondering about the cost for therapy. We work hard and flexibly to make counseling affordable. We are in-network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield and CIGNA. We also have flexible self-payment options. Before you decide which option is best, you may want to consider the following:

  • Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis in order to pay your claim. This becomes a pre-existing condition for life.
  • Insurance companies can limit your number of sessions.
  • Once a claim leaves our office to be paid by the insurance company, an average of 14-17 other people handle your confidential information in order to process and pay the claim.
  • Annual deductibles can require you to pay thousands before your benefits kick in.There is no guarantee that your deductible will be met before the counseling ends. The insurance company still has a diagnosis on file, even if they've paid nothing toward your care.
  • No diagnosis is filed.
  • The length of your therapy is based on your unique needs and goals; not determinedby the insurance company.
  • Your confidentiality is assured.
  • We offer a discount for the advance payment of 10 or more visits. Over time, this can be less expensive than your deductible and copayment.
  • Payment plans are available with a current credit card on file. This eliminates the need to make copayments at every appointment, and instead allows you to make an affordable auto-draft payment on the day(s) of the month that work best for you.

Remember, when you privately pay for your counseling, no diagnosis is required and your confidentiality is assured.

Sliding Scale / Reduced Fee Option
We realize that sometimes special circumstances keep an individual or family from affording counseling. When you find yourself at a low point in life and have few financial resources, you may feel like you really can't afford counseling. Unfortunately, that is often the time that therapy may be most needed. In such circumstances, this can be discussed and arrangements may be made for an affordable option, based upon need.  Occasionally a licensure candidate who is completing required pre-licensure hours after finishing their graduate coursework can accept patients at a reduced fee. If you are interested in seeing a candidate for licensure, please ask.

New Seasons accepts Blue Cross/Blue Shield and CIGNA insurance plans and some employee assistance programs (EAP).  If we are out of network with your insurance plan, that's not a problem.  You can still be seen. To make that process easy, we provide you with a single form that allows you to get diectly reimbursed by the insurance company according to the terms of your coverage.

Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health / behavioral health insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?
  • What copayment will I need for this provider?

Methods of Payment
: We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, Discover and Health Saving Account cards for payment.

Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel an appointment, please be courteous to other clients and to your therapist by calling in advance. There is a $135 fee for failure to keep a scheduled appointment without a full business day's notice.
